Charles Gary "Uncle Buddy" Conn

Charles Gary “Uncle Buddy” Conn, 80, of Gulfport, died Friday, February 3, 2012. Mr. Conn was a charter member of Extended Hands Assembly of God Church in Gulfport and was greatly involved in southern gospel music until his death. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lorene Conn; sister, Joy Boykin, and brother, Jerry Conn. Survivors include his two sisters, Merle Longnecker of Gulfport and Audrey Beth Smith of Troup, TX; brother, W.B. Conn of Tomball, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, and great nieces and great nephews. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Mr. Conn’s name to Extended Hands Assembly of God, 16427 Shaw Road, Gulfport, MS 39503. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, February 7, 2012 from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Extended Hands of Assembly of God Church with services beginning at 1 p.m. Rev. J.P. Sherman will officiate. Interment will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Irving, Texas at a later date. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 1726 15th Street, Gulfport is in charge of funeral arrangements.
