Mr. Charles George Rumsey of Ocean Springs, MS, died Sunday, April 15, 2007, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Rumsey was a native of Cicero, Illinois and had been a resident of Ocean Springs for the past 47 years. He served in the U. S. Army Air Corps as a B-29 pilot during WW II. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and a founding member of Treasure Oaks Country Club in Ocean Springs. He was the owner/operator of Coast Construction Company and formerly served as a member of the Ocean Springs Planning Commission. Fishing, golf and tennis were among his favorite past times as well as other social activities. Mr. Rumsey is survived by his wife, Ann Haden Rumsey of Ocean Springs; two daughters, Susan Jack of Little Rock, AR, and Janet Doolittle of Biloxi; two sons, Larry Rumsey and Peter Rumsey, both of Ocean Springs; four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Memorial services will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at 11 a.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home Chapel in Ocean Springs where friends may visit one hour before service time. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials be made to the American Diabetes Association, 16 Northtown Drive, Suite 100, Jackson, MS 39211.
