Charles L. Sanders

Charles L. Sanders, age 60, of Gulfport, died Tuesday, May 17, 2011 in Gulfport. He was a native and longtime resident of Gulfport and a 1969 graduate of Gulfport East High School. He was a store manager with K&B and Rite Aid since 1974. In 1981 he was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alice Susan Johnson; and a brother, Elvin Johnson. Mr. Sanders is survived by his wife, Deborah Sanders; a daughter, Heather Sanders; a step-daughter, Brandi Murrell and husband, Keith, all of Gulfport; a sister, Mary Ann Johnson Pratt of Atlanta, GA; a brother, George Sanders of Raleigh, NC; two grandchildren, Prince Caelyn Cottonham and A'naiya D. Murrell-Varnado; four nieces, three nephews, six great nieces and one great nephew; and a host of friends and family The memorial service will be held Sunday, May 22, 2011 at 4:00 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit beginning at 2:00 p.m. A repast will follow the service at the funeral home.
