Charles was born and raised in Biloxi and relocated to Oxford, MS in 1999. He was a loving and devoted son to his parents and was a protective “big brother” to his younger siblings. His wife and children were the center of his life. Charles was born on December 16, 1934 and was baptized by Fr. Francis Quinn at the Nativity of the B.V.M. Church on December 30, 1934. He was honored to be an altar server and along with his older brother, Rene’, loved to pull the ropes to ring the huge bell in the church tower.

His elementary education began at Sacred Heart Academy and he graduated from Notre Dame High School in 1952. Charles also attended St. Joseph Seminary in St. Benedict, LA in addition to attending St. Bernard College in Cullman, AL. As he continued his quest for knowledge and a suitable career, he enrolled in Louisiana State University. Charles proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a member of the Signal Corps. The next adventure was enrolling at the University of Mississippi to study pharmacy.

The greatest adventure was at hand, Charles married his true love, Ann Lee Felsher, a union which lasted almost 62 years. They were joined in marriage by Fr. Paul Hession at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church in Biloxi on August 25, 1962. The happy couple began their life together at “Ole Miss” and upon Charles’ graduation, relocated to Natchez, MS. After a few years in Natchez, they returned to Biloxi.

Charles was a faithful and active member of Our Lady of Fatima parish where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was also a member of St. John's Evangelistic Catholic Church in Oxford since 1999. He had a wide circle of friends and thoroughly enjoyed boating, fishing, tennis and gardening.

He, with his wife Ann, enjoyed Mardi Gras and were members of the Carnival Association. They were devoted to “Ole Miss” sports.

Charles was preceded in death by his parents, Deacon Rene’ Joseph Moniot, Sr. and Marion Bessey Moniot; his brothers, Rene’ Joseph Moniot, Jr. and Robert Edmund Moniot; and his sister, Helen Moniot Fabie.
