Charles Field Munger III, 88, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Friday, January 5, 2024. He was born in New London, Connecticut to Charles Field Munger Jr. and Nancy Crane Munger.
Charles retired after 21 years in the Air Force as Master Sergeant and served two tours in Viet Nam. He received the Bronze Star, Army Good Conduct, USAF Good Conduct, Vietnam Service, Viet Nam Campaign, and Air Force Commendation Medals. He graduated from the University of Mississippi with a master's degree in Education. Charles loved God, his family, his country and working in his yard.
He is preceded in death by his best friend and love of his life, Janet Beaugez Munger; his son, David J. Munger; his parents, Charles Field Munger Jr. and Nancy Crane Munger; and his sister, Jean Munger Barrett.
He is survived by his children, Mona Munger and Linda Munger; good friend, Paula Shockey; his sister, Diane Munger Sylvia (Bob); his daughter-in-law, Lynn Munger; his grandchildren, Jon Munger (Pam), Chris Munger (Erica) and Cathy Kramer; great grandchildren, Kayla Munger, Brendan Munger, Jon Corbin Munger, Evelyn Munger, Olivia Kramer, Colin Munger and Channing Munger; and his fur baby, Ike.
A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 14, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs, MS. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. Interment will follow in Bellande Cemetery, Ocean Springs, MS. The family would like to thank his friends at Martha's Tea Room and JB and Debbie Galle for their help and support. In lieu of flowers please send donations to St.Jude.
