Charles Laston Newsom

Charles Laston Newsom, Jr., age 84, of Ocean Springs, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2020. He was born on October 11, 1935 in Wausau, Florida to Charles and Nellie Newsom. Charles, a Vietnam veteran, served in the Air Force for 22 years and was honorably discharged in 1982. Charles was preceded in death by his father; mother; wife, Sarah Newson; and son Charles Allen. Survivors include his brother, McCoy of FL; sister, Belinda of Indianapolis, IN; two sons, Jason of Fairhope, AL and Scott of Ocean Springs, MS; and three grandchildren, Hannah and Max of Fairhope, AL and Nerissa of Ocean Springs, MS. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe is in charge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jackson County Animal Shelter.
