Charles"Pete" Duncan Stephens

Charles “Pete” Duncan Stephens, age 73 of Biloxi, MS, died May 12, 2012, at home in Biloxi, MS. He graduated from University Military School in Mobile, AL. Pete was a third generation nurseryman in Semmes, AL, before moving to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in 1976. He continued to work as a horticulturist most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Kathryn Stephens; his sister, Ann Falleta; and his daughter, Robin Taylor Stephens. He is survived by his brother, Col. Larry (Lucy) Stephens (Ret.); his uncle, Merrill Stephens; his daughter, Lynn (John) Pugh; his son, Peter M. Stephens; grandchildren, Joshua, Joely, Jordon and Juliann Pugh; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. A Remembrance Service will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer on Popps Ferry Road in Biloxi, MS on Friday, May 18, 2012 at 10:00 am. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
