SSG Charles “Randy” Ransom Shultis, Jr., age 81, of Ocean Springs, MS, a proud veteran of the Army National Guard, passed away Thursday, August 8th, 2024.
Randy was called to active duty in support of the Persian Gulf War with the 1355th S&S Co. and retired from the Army National Guard in 1992.
Randy, a long time resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, worked for 40 years at Ingalls Shipbuilding before retiring in 2004.
When Randy was not working, he enjoyed time with his family, reading his Bible, fishing, boating, and was an avid runner. He had a calming and cheerful energy about him and had a way of making people laugh and feel welcome in his presence.
Randy was preceded in death by his loving wife of over fifty years, Margaret Louise Shultis; and his parents, Charles Ransom Shultis, Sr. and Marguete Evelyn Farris.
Randy is survived by his children, Dorene Hansen and her husband, Jeff, Charles and his wife, Monica, and Robin Pinner and her husband, Shawn. Randy has three grandchildren, Stephen Hansen, Anna Hansen French, and Kade Pinner; as well as three great grandchildren, Carter Hansen, Clark Hansen, and Claire Hansen.
The family would like to thank The Blake Assisted Living Facility, both staff and residents, for their care and kindness.
A visitation will be held on Monday, August 19th, 2024 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Homes from 9:30am to 10:30am. A graveside service will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery at 11:00am.
