Charles Raymond "Bill" Cunningham

Charles Raymond "Bill" Cunningham, age 88, of Gulfport died Wednesday, April 11, 2007 in Gulfport. He was born in Scircleville, Indiana and was a resident of Gulfport for 23 years. He was a member of St. John Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for 20 years. Mr. Cunningham served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and retired from the National Guard as a First Sergeant in 1978. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Tipton, IN before moving to Gulfport. He was also a life member of Tipton Elks Lodge and American Legion in Tipton. He was a member and office holder in Krewe of Gemini and was King Jupiter XXIV, and he was a charter member of Mac's Coffee Club. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Maycel Johnson Cunningham; a son, Jack W. Cunningham; a brother, Billy Cunningham; and a sister and brother-in-law, Lois and Jack Hoffman. He is survived by his wife, Jean Cunningham of Gulfport; a daughter-in-law, Sophia Cunningham of Tipton IN; a sister-in-law, Marjorie Gossard of Frankfort, IN; a brother-in-law, Ken Johnson and his wife, Vivian of Gulfport; three grandchildren, Terri Hall of Crawfordsville, IN, W04 Chip Cunningham and his wife, Kim of Colorado Springs, CO, Tina Atteberry and her husband, Jeff of Corpus Christi, TX; eight great-grandchildren; a great-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, April 13, 2007 at 9:30 a.m. at St. John Catholic Church in Gulfport where friends may visit from 9:00 a.m. until the service. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. The family prefers memorials to St. Vincent dePaul Society, C/O St. John Catholic Church, P.O.
