Charles Ray Ridens, US Navy Ret.

Charles Ray Ridens, Sr. passed away Monday, July 6, 2015, in Gulfport, MS. Charlie, born in Deport, TX, was a proud American and dedicated service member, serving in the Armed Forces from 1960-1981 including two tours of Vietnam. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1981 as a First Class Petty Officer and kept highly involved with his fellow veterans and veteran projects. Charlie was extremely proud of his education, receiving two Associates degrees in Applied Science and taught Jr. college for 9 years. In later years Charlie became an avid photographer working on various projects locally and nationally with friends. He is survived by two sons, David Scott Ridens, MMCM USN Ret and Charles Ray Ridens Jr.; his grandchildren, Hollie Larkins, Christopher Ridens, and Brandon Ridens; his great-grandchildren, Julien Dice and Kai Larkins; and his sister, Kay Maier. Graveside services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 at Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
