Charles Earl Tobias

Lieutenant Commander Charles “Chuck” Earl Tobias, 91, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away Sunday, November 24, 2024. Chuck was born August 19, 1933 in Corning, NY.

After graduation, Chuck joined the United States Navy. He served for 21 years before retiring. He then went to work at Bath Iron Works. Chuck remained a dedicated employee for 20 years before retiring. 

He is preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Marie Tobias; and children, Carl Tobias, Lavon Nygaard, and Ronnie Nygaard.

Survivors include his children, Gene Nygaard, Val Nygaard, Keith Tobais, and Kevin Tobais; 8 grandchildren; and siblings, Skip and Alice Tobias.

A memorial service will be held at 2 pm on Monday, December 2, 2024 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park. A reception will take place at 3 pm at Val’s Sports Bar and Grill, 1601 Government Street, Ocean Springs, MS.
