Charles L. Williams

Charles L. Williams Sr. passed away at his home on December 11, 2015 surrounded by family. Charles was born in Shreveport, Louisiana on October 31, 1939 and moved to d’Iberville at the age of three where he remained a lifelong resident. He was a member of Sacred Heart and Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Churches. Charles was a graduate of Notre Dame High School Class of 1957. Charles was co-owner of Williams Diesel Service Inc. Charles loved to travel with family and friends, especially to Disney World with his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his strong faith, devotion to his family, hard work and sense of humor. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Judy Kennedy Williams; children, Tammy Breeland, Cindy Dusang (Damon), Loretta Eleuterius (Gregory), and Charles L. Williams II; grandchildren, Jeremy, Keely, Christopher, Zackery, Wesley, Baylee, Matthew, Katelan, Kennedy, Mary Elizabeth, Charles III and Karley; great-grandchildren, Julius, Brennan, Peyton, Kaydence, Nyla, Sean and Brice; brother, George (Diane) Williams; sister, Linda (Glenn) Ellis; father-in-law, Charles R. Kennedy; and a host of nieces, nephews and other extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles W. and Velma Quave Williams; his mother-in-law, Iola Kennedy; and great-grandson, Jayden Breeland. The family wishes to extend special gratitude to Camelia Home Health, Notre Dame Hospice and all of his caregivers for their compassionate care of Charles. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be from noon until 2:00 p.m. Burial at Swetman Cemetery in d’Iberville will follow. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe is in charge of arrangements.
