Ann Coleman, longtime resident of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away unexpectedly after a brief illness in Sarasota, FL on Tuesday, April 8, 2008. Ms. Coleman was born on July 7th, in Sturgis, MS. As an adult she spent many years in East Hanover, New Jersey before returning to the MS Gulf Coast and to her southern roots that she so loved. Ms. Coleman had recently retired from Consumer Credit Counseling Service, located in Biloxi, where she served as the Office Manager. Over her lifetime Ann enjoyed many career and business pursuits such as modeling, boutique clothing and accessories sales, cosmetics, and most recently real estate. She was very creative and quite the accomplished seamstress and decorator. She was happiest when she was helping others, traveling, gardening, planning family gatherings, playing with her grandchildren and ballroom dancing with her extended dance family. Ann was a very compassionate, giving, and loving Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Aunt and Friend. She always faced life's challenges with such strength, style and grace. Her beautiful spirit and smile was a gift to all who knew her and will be deeply missed. Ms. Coleman was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Edward Coleman and Sadie Rae Coleman. She is survived by her son, Anthony C. DelVescovo and daughter-in-law, Christina DelVescovo of Ocean Springs; daughter, Tamara A. Moody, and her son-in-law, Christopher Moody of Sarasota, FL. Ms Coleman's pride and joy were her four grandchildren, Anthony and Skylar DelVescovo of Ocean Springs, MS., and Gabriella and Christopher Moody of Sarasota, FL. Ann also leaves behind her sister, Mrs. Dorothy C. Douglas and brother-in-law, J.F. Douglas, Jr., of Ocean Springs, nieces and nephews Gaye and David Row and Christopher Row of Ocean Springs, Paul and Cindy Douglas of Baton Rouge, LA. Paul Douglas, Jr. of Austin, TX. Katherine Douglas and Stephen Douglas of Baton Rouge, LA., Additionally, she leaves behind many dear friends who will miss her greatly. Visitation will be on Saturday, April 12, 2008, from 12 Noon - 2:00 PM with a 2 PM chapel service, all at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Cemetery in Ocean Springs. Dr. Mike Barnett will be officiating. In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorial donations be sent to the Building Fund at the First Baptist Church of Ocean Springs, 602 Washington Avenue, Ocean Springs, MS. 39564.
