Cherrlyn Penton

Cherrlyn Lynette Daughdrill Penton, 84, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024, in Ocean Springs, MS. Cherri was born on November 11, 1939, to Mr. and Mrs. D. W. Daughdrill (Elsie) in Leaf, MS.

 She graduated from McLain High School in Greene County and received her Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Southern Mississippi.
 

Cherri is survived by her husband of 47 years, Bobby G. Penton; her daughters, Sherri Brancamp (Will) and Paige Triebwasser (Stace); a special daughter in law, Myra Penton; three granddaughters, Chelsea Pace (Jake), Elizabeth Anderson, and Julia Anderson; and a great granddaughter, Annabelle Pace.


 Mrs. Penton, as known by her many beloved students, taught elementary school for more than 30 years in Pascagoula. She was loved by her family, friends and students for her caring manner and her sweet smile. Cherri was an avid gardener with a beautiful yard, and a wonderful cook who was especially known for her potato salad and her homemade chocolate cake.

A funeral service will be held at 11 am on Saturday, April 13, 2024 at Eastlawn United Methodist Church. Friends are invited to visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at McLain Cemetery. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Truewood by Merrill in Ocean Springs, Enhabit Hospice and Ocean Springs Health and Rehab for taking such great care of Mrs. Cherri.


Honorary Pallbearers are Stace Triebwasser, Will Brancamp, Jake Pace, and Earl Billingsley.
