Christine Fayard Hamilton

Mrs. Christine Fayard Hamilton, age 95, lifelong resident of Ocean Springs, MS., died Thursday, March 24, 2005, at Settler's Point in Ocean Springs. She was a cradle member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Ocean Springs. She became a member of the Order of Eastern Star in 1939. She was worthy matron of Adah Chapter No. 49 in 1944-1945, served as Grand Ruth for the Grand Chapter of MS. in 1972, Grand Representative to Kentucky in 1968, Grand Representative to Georgia in 1978, life member and Royal Matron of Gulf Coast Court No. 1 of Amaranth 1975, and received her 50 year pin in 1989. Mrs. Hamilton retired from Civil Service from Keesler Air Force Base with 32 years of service. She was a member of the Ocean Springs Garden Club, the Spanish Trail District of Garden Club, the Gulf Coast Council of Garden Club, and the Mississippi State Garden Club. She was a life member of the 1699 Historical Committee. Mrs. Hamilton was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard Fayard and Augusta Fayard, husband, Clarence A. Hamilton, brother, Ambrose Fayard, and sister Beryl Seymour. She is survived by her only son, Clarence Hamilton, Jr., and wife, Jane, sister, Lucille Heffner, grandson, Bo Hamilton, granddaughter, Eleanor Hare and husband, Mark, and great-granddaughter, Sabyn Hamilton. Visitation will be on Friday, March 25, 2005, from 6-9 PM, 7 PM OES service, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Saturday, March 26, 2005, there will be a 1 PM Mass of Christian Burial, where friends may call from 12 Noon until 1 PM, at St. Johns Episcopal Church. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park. The family would like to thank Settlers' Point Personal Care Home for their excellent care through her residence there. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to St.John's Episcopal Church, 705 Rayburn Street, Ocean Springs, MS., 39564, or to Settler's Point, 13625 Wilford Seymour Rd., Ocean Springs, MS., 39564, or to the Order of Eastern Star, Adah Chapter No. 49. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
