Christine Palmer Rigney, 82, of Perkinston died July 24, 2012. The daughter of Sam and Maudie Palmer, she was a native of Wayne County, Mississippi. She married fellow Wayne County native, Herbert G. Rigney. She lived for over 50 years in Gulfport, Lyman, and Perkinston. For most of those years she worked as a seamstress, building a network of loyal customers and good friends. She loved plants and pets and spent much of her free time in her yard and garden.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert Rigney, a daughter, Patricia Lynn Rigney, her parents, one brother, Earl Palmer, and two sisters, Dot White and Eddie Ruth Stanley.
She is survived by her son and his wife, James and Denise Rigney of Picayune; her daughter and husband, Pamela and Douglas Roll of Ocean Springs; four grandchildren, Matthew (Kari) Rigney, Michael Rigney, Reuben Rigney, and Haley Roll; two great-grandchildren, Liam Rigney and Eva Rigney; and one sister, Katherine Palmer of Waynesboro, Mississippi.
Family and friends are invited to a time of visitation and remembrance on Thursday, July 26, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport which will be followed by a brief memorial service at 2:00 p.m.
The family prefers memorial donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
