Christopher Ray “Chris” Kinney , age 48, died Friday, September 27, 2019, in Jackson, MS.
Chris was born in Florida on September 16, 1971, and moved to Arkansas in 1994, where he met his wife of 25 years, Gina Parker. They raised a family and moved to Ocean Springs, MS, in 1994. There he continued his education, earning two associate’s degrees, and worked for Nasa, AGJ and Microsoft in the IT field for 20 years.
He loved to fish, hunt and anything outdoors, loved motorcycles and creating new things from old things, sailing, cooking, grilling and Saints football. He loved to learn and being with his family and friends, doing something or nothing at all, especially anything on the water.
He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Bearl and Doris Kinney of Louisiana, and Rose Parker of Texas. He is survived by wife, Gina, mother Charlotte Kinney, children Caitlyn E. Kinney, Christopher James Kinney, Trysten A. Kinney and Trevor D. Kinney, his aunt Patricia G. Kinney and brother-in-law Stephen D. Parker, four nieces, three nephews, three brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law, many cousins, aunts and uncles. Also Morgan, his beloved rottweiler, who is waiting for him to come home and Tiki, the matriarch shitzu.
A service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 5, 2019, at Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15452 O’Neal Road, Gulfport, MS, where friends may visit one hour prior to service time.
The family would like to thank Ochsner Medical Center in New Orleans, University Medical Center in Jackson and St. Jude. Mostly thank you to the multitude of family and friends that loved Chris.
