Cindy Sellers Herman

Cindy Sellers Herman, 51, and a native of Biloxi, died peacefully in her sleep on December 2, 2008, at her home in Kentwood, LA, leaving this world to be with her Savior in Heaven. Cindy was a tender spirit who carried with her a wealth of compassion for others, a deep love for nature, a gift for creating handcrafts, and a fervent appreciation of what it means to be a Southern woman. She worked for many years as a nurse's aide, helping people all along the Mississippi Gulf Coast. She also shared of herself with others through her beautiful and delicate handcrafted gifts. Her passion was evident in all she was, even down to her love of "Gone with the Wind" and its portrayal of the classic fiery Southern woman. As a young girl, Cindy loved spending time at the feet of her Great-Grandmother Duckworth in Taylorsville. Continuing the tradition as an adult, she adored her two grandsons and always made room for them to sit in her lap. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandmother, Mildred Rowell of Gulfport; her aunt, Darlene Alvarez of Gulfport; and her paternal grandparents, James and Mary Sellers of Biloxi. She is survived by her two daughters, Angela Ellsberry of Atlanta, GA, and Kelli Willis of Thompson, GA; her mother and step-father, Sylvia and Gerald Songe of Biloxi; her father and step-mother, Jimmy and Beverly Sellers of Kentwood; her sister, Heather Sellers of Biloxi; two grandsons, Austin and Dustin; and a host of lovely nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles. A private family service will be held Saturday, December 6, 2008, at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, Pass Road, Biloxi. A committal graveside service will be held Saturday, December 13, 2008. Friends may gather at 1:30 pm for a 2:00 pm service at Biloxi City Cemetery. View and sign register book @www.bradfordokeefe.com
