Clarence Albert Hamilton, Jr.

Clarence A. Hamilton, Jr., age 78, of Ocean Springs, MS., died Monday, December 14, 2009, in Ocean Springs. Clarence was a lifelong resident of Ocean Springs. He graduated from St. Martin High School, attended Perkinston Jr. College and the University of Georgia. He retired from civil service at Keesler Air Force Base and established Hamilton, Inc. after retirement in which he was a marine surveyor. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and boating, was a shriner and mason in Joppa Temple and a member of the Eastern Star F & AM #49. He was a lifetime member of the 1699 Historical Society, Society of Naval Architect and Engineers and a lifetime member of the Mobile Big Game Fishing Club. Clarence was also a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. Clarence was preceded in death by his parents Clarence A. Hamilton Sr. and Christine Fayard Hamilton. Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Jane Sheely Hamilton, son, Clarence "Bo" A. Hamilton III, daughter, Eleanor "Cissy" H. (Mark) Hare and granddaughter, Sabyn A. Hamilton. Visitation will be on Wednesday, December 16, 2009, from 6 PM until 8 PM at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Thursday, December 17, 2009, there will be an 11 AM church service at St. John's Episcopal Church. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family prefers donations be made to St. John's Episcopal Church Building Fund, 705 Rayburn Street, Ocean Springs, MS. 39564 or to your favorite charity. The family would like to thank the Hospice of Light with the Singing River Health Systems.
