Claude L. “Jerry” Stacey, Jr. died peacefully in his home in Ocean Springs, Mississippi on November 22, 2023.
Jerry was born an only child September 15, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois as the son of Juliet L. Stacey and Claude Stacey, Sr. Beloved son, father, brother, husband, lover and friend, Jerry never knew a stranger; his life was a metaphorical and literal hard and fast ride on a motorcycle. Jerry worked his whole life as a mechanic and mechanical supervisor, including 37 years working on various offshore oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico and in Africa. Although not educated formally, he was recognized by his peers as an exceptional mechanic who took pride in his work, especially during his stint with Chevron Oil. He was also a dedicated member of the Fugarwe Tribe Motorcycle Club and loved working on all things mechanical, riding motorcycles, watching John Wayne movies, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
He was preceded in death by two ex-spouses, Deborah Edwards and Gail Ketchum and his last, life-long partner, Tina.
He is survived by five sons, Christopher L. Stacey, Claude L. Stacey III, James Patrick Stacey, Joshua Messer, and Christopher Reimann; one daughter, Sarah Messer; his grandchildren, Autumn Lee Messer, Jacob Cale Messer, Rocco Stacey, Sophie Stacey; several ex-spouses, Dorothy Poindexter, Judith Dorsey, Janis Bressan; and his faithful dogs, Abbey and Harley.
On Sunday, December 17, a visitation will be held at Bradford O’ Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs, Mississippi between 3:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M.
