Clifton Malachi Dees

Clifton M. "Kip" Dees, 83, of Vancleave, MS, died Thursday, June 16, 2011, in Gulfport. Mr. Dees was a native and lifelong resident of Vancleave. He was the former owner/operator of Dees General Store in Vancleave. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clifton L. and Ionia Mills Dees; three sisters, Betty Jane Dees, Lysbeth Dees Ramsay and Peggy Dees Plunk; and his former wife, Phyllis Mallette Dees. He is survived by four daughters, Jeanie (Don) Hays, Jane (Cham) Trotter, Pauline (James) Montague and Shauna Doty; three sons, Clifton M. (Leigh) Dees, Chi (Cathy) Dees and Scott Dees; sister, Patsy Hinton Jones; twelve grandchildren, Michelle (David) Ward, Jacquelyn Ward, Jill (James) Dees, Cliff (Kimberly) Dees, Dr. Germaine (Michael) Gottsche Wilson, Chad (Susanne) Dees, Dusty (Trisha) Dees, Ashley (Kevin) Walker, Troy Montague, Logan Dees, Megan Strong and Jordyn Doty; and thirteen great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Monday, June 20, 2011, at 9:45 a.m. at Vancleave Cemetery. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Vancleave is in charge of arrangements.
