Clothilde "Francis" Hall

Clothilde “Francis” Hall Clothilde Mathida Franziska Staudt Hall, 86, of Biloxi, passed away Thursday, December 31, 2015. Obituary written by her son, Michael. Francis, as friends and loved ones knew her, was born in Frankfurt, Germany on November 11, 1929. She was a kind and gentle soul that touched many people’s lives in the most positive of ways. She was my salvation and never gave up hope even in the darkest of moments. Her level of intelligence, poise, grace and civility was truly inspiring. She had a thirst for knowledge that never waivered and continued until her final days. She was my “search engine” long before any of that existed today. My mother loved bird, animals, nature and any music. These will all live on in me. She was a loving wife and mother, dear friend and mentor to those lives she touched. I cannot adequately express the level of loss that has come with her passing. The world is a little less bright without her. I can only hope to attain a fraction of her spark to light the world that remains. She had a sense of humor that was subtle and witty without being cruel or unkind. She regaled myself and others with events from her life in such a descriptive manner that it made you feel as if you had experienced it yourself. Stories of life in Germany before, during and after World War II came alive to me and I will treasure them forever. My mother worked for Quartermasters in Germany during the 1950s. She came to America and became a citizen in the 1960s. She worked for civil service on Keesler Air Force Base with the 920th Weather Reconnaissance Group until retiring in 1996 after the squadron reorganized as the 403rd. She continued with her passions in retirement and even as her health eventually declined, she always put others needs above her own with a smile on her beautiful face. She was preceded in death by her father, Johann Adam Albert Staudt, her mother, Lina Viktoria Staudt, her son and my brother, Norman Peter Landry, and her husband, Alexander Muirhead Hall. She is survived by myself, Michael Landry and our wonderful friends, Jake and Maggie Keary. She will live on in all the lives of people she influenced and came into contact with. Her voice will be heard in the songs of the birds she loved and the stories she told. May you rest and enjoy the peace you so richly deserve. Ascend home and receive your wings. Ich werde dich immer lieben. The service will be held at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 with visitation beginning at 1:00pm and Mass at 2:00pm. She will be laid to rest at Southern Memorial Park. Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home, Howard Avenue Chapel is in charge of arrangements. View and sign register book at www.bradfordokeefe.com
