CMSgt Ralph Rush Little, USAF (Ret)

CMSgt Ralph Rush Little, USAF (Ret), 84, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 13, 2010 in Gulfport, MS. He was a native of Wilcox County, Alabama, born in Sweetwater, and had been a resident of Gulfport, MS for the past 37 years. Ralph served in the US Army for 2 years during WWII. He continued his military career in the US Air Force for 27 years. Proud of his country and his service to it, he was truly an american patriot. Upon retirement in 1973, he was employed by Life of Georgia Ins. Co. for many years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed working in his yard and keeping his cars in tip-top shape. His keen sense of humor and quick wit drew people to him, and he was adored by many colleagues, dear friends, and especially his family. Ralph was a longtime member of Handsboro Baptist Church in Gulfport for 44 years and especially enjoyed his Sunday school class. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. Charles K. and Mazie Rush Little; one brother, Charels, Jr.; two grandchildren, Ralph Rush Little III and Melissa Joy Shows; and a son-in-law, David Glen Scafidi. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Louise Chance Little of Gulfport; three daughters, Dianne (Neil) Minton of Florence, MS, Elaine (Clay) Shank of Clinton, MS and Jeanne (David, deceased) Scafidi of Las Vegas, NV; one son, Ralph Rush Little II of Gulfport. His legacy also includes five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, August 17, 2010 at 11:30 a.m. at the Pass Road Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, West Biloxi. Friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. until service time. Interment will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery with full military honors.
