Colonel Joseph L. Ward, USAF Retired, age 92, of Ocean Springs, MS died Thursday, August 4, 2011, in Ocean Springs.
Colonel Ward had been a resident of Ocean Springs since 1968 and was a graduate of Georgetown University and Georgetown School of Law. He served in the US Army during WWII and later transferred to the US Air Force where he served for 29 years until his retirement in 1971. Colonel Ward practiced law in Biloxi until 2004 and was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs, MS.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anne W. Ward and his son, David L. Ward.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph G. Ward of Spokane, WA and Craig M. Ward of Toledo, OH and a sister, Betty Lea Carroll and three grandchildren, Benjamin Ward, Nicholas Ward and Caleb Ward.
Visitation will be on Wednesday, August 10, 2011, from 9 am until 10 am, with a 10 am chapel service, all at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery.
