Connie Elaine Calloway Fessler

Connie Elaine Calloway Fessler, 72, went to be with her heavenly Father May 14, 2023. She passed away peacefully at home in Woolmarket. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, William J "Bill" Fessler; sister, Carol West of Gulfport; brother, John Calloway (Carla) of Willis, TX; and sister-in-law, Judy Calloway (Jack) of Port Charlotte, FL. She is preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Elaine Calloway of Arab, AL; and brother, Jack Calloway of Port Charlotte, FL. Connie was a nurse in the US Air Force. She attained the rank of Colonel and was the Director of Nursing (Chief Nurse) at Keesler Air Force Base in Biloxi, MS when she retired in 2002 after 26 years of service. She graduated from the US Air Force Air War College and received her Masters of Science in Nursing from University of California, San Francisco. 

She was a member of the Society of Air Force Nurses, Inc. and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. 

Connie was an avid reader and loved traveling. During her military career, she was able to travel to many other countries. In later years, she enjoyed traveling around the country in their motorhome.

A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, May 19, 2023 at 11:00 am at St Mary Catholic Church, 8343 Woolmarket Road, Biloxi, MS 39532. Reception to follow in Murray Hall. Friends may visit from 9:00 am to 11:00 am. 

Interment will be Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Biloxi National Cemetery at 10:00 am.
