Cora Marie Buenz

Mrs. Cora M. Buenz, 87, of Biloxi, MS, died Sunday, January 3, 2010, in Biloxi. Mrs. Buenz was born in Pella, Iowa and had been a resident of Biloxi for the past 28 years. She and her husband raised their children in Ankeny, Iowa then traveled and moved overseas after the children were grown. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Biloxi. Mrs. Buenz was preceded in death by her husband, Neal Buenz; parents, Roelf and Anna Heeren; two brothers; and a sister. She is survived by two daughters, Lois (Doug) Leavengood of Biloxi, and Mary (David) Fields of Liverpool, NY; son, Al Buenz of Bay St. Louis; grandchildren, Pamela (Scott) Kennedy of Flintstone, GA, Albert (Karen) Leavengood of Lookout Mountain, TN, Daniel Leavengood of Jackson, MS, Laura (Bobby) Dueitt of Flintstone, GA, Neal P. Buenz of Bloomington, MN, and Robert Fields of Liverpool, NY; and great grandchildren, Aidan, Isabel, Ethan and Oliver Kennedy and Kathryn and Andrew Leavengood. Memorial services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2010, at the First Presbyterian Church of Gulfport, 10885 O'Neal Road, Gulfport where friends may visit one hour before service time. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 675 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, is in charge of arrangements.
