CPO James M. Gentry, U. S. Navy, Ret.

Chief Petty Officer James M. Gentry, U. S. Navy, Retired, 64, of Biloxi, MS, died Tuesday, March 13, 2007, in Ocean Springs. Mr. Gentry (Jimmy) was born October 30, 1942, in Dallas, TX. He was a 1960 graduate of Biloxi High School and a longtime resident of San Jose, CA. He was a Vietnam Veteran, having proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 23 years. After retiring from the navy he worked for the Department of Defense 20 years and retired January 31, 2007. Mr. Gentry was preceded in death by his parents, James A. and Tommie D. Gentry; granddaughter, Haley O'Bryan-Gentry, and grandparents, Sam and Floy Gentry, and Thomas and Ersalin Russell Brown. He is survived by his wife, Linda L. Gentry of Elma, WA; three daughters and their husbands, Sherrie and Anthony Baroco, Cherryl and Jimmy Dyar, and Monica and Philip Kelley; grandchildren, Nick Allgaier, Michael La Fleur, Chase La Fleur, Nicholas Hardwick, Aurianna McManus, and Justin Clark; great grand daughter, Olivia McCrory; his sister and her husband, Sherry and Paul Bird; "Special Aunt" Ruth Wright; a niece, nephews and many cousins. Visitation will be Tuesday, March 20, 2007, from 12:30 until 2 p.m. at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Homes in Biloxi. A procession will follow at 2 p.m. for graveside services at Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. with full military honors. In lieu of flowers the family request memorials be made to the Disabled American Veterans Association, DAV Memorial Program, P. O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301.
