Curtis Richard Harrison

Curtis Richard Harrison Jr., 67, passed on August 26, 2020 surrounded by his family. He was a lifelong resident of Biloxi, MS, where he attended Nativity BVM and was a member of the Biloxi High School class of 1972. Upon graduation, he entered the Mississippi National Guard. Curtis attained the highest rank as an Eagle Scout with Troop 212 and became Assistant Troop Master. He received the Boy Scouts Pine Burr Area Council Award and was a Trustee for Camp Wilkes. An active member of his community, Curtis was a Commissioner on the Biloxi Planning Commission for 25 years. He was also a previous member of the Biloxi Rotary Club, and he enjoyed meeting every Friday with the Biloxi Lunch Bunch. Curtis was a lifetime parishioner of Nativity BVM Parish. He served in several capacities with the Knights of Columbus, including Grand Knight. Curtis worked to continue his family legacy with Harrison Realty, the oldest documented real estate business on the Gulf Coast. He was a licensed Mississippi Broker and Appraiser, and he passed his passion for his work on to his children who continue to run the business today in its 5th generation. His main source of joy came from the life he built with his loving wife, Donna. In their free time, they would often take their children boating to the islands and trout fishing. He was an avid NASCAR and Atlanta Braves fan. Later in life, he enjoyed going on cruises with friends and attending Saints games. Curtis was preceded in death by his father, Curtis R. Harrison Sr.; mother, Blanche Fayard Harrison; brothers, Charles T. Harrison Sr., Timothy M. Harrison; and sister, Helen Ruffin. He is survived by his wife, Donna Harrison; 6 children, Joseph R. Harrison (Christi), Jean Denton (Jack), Crystina Moran (Aldo), Curtis R. Harrison III (Jessica), Holly Rubinsak (Gilbert), Brandon Joseph “BJ” Harrison; sister, Joy Goundas (Angelo); 10 grandchildren, Alexa, Ashlyn, Trey, Deja, Harrison, Emylia, Aiden, Audrey, Cristianaldo, and Azlyn; and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Curtis R. Harrison Building at Camp Wilkes. Memorial services will be held Saturday, August 29, 2020, at 10:00 a.m. at the Favre-Fayard Family Cemetery in Waveland, MS. If coming from I-10, take the 603 south (exit 13) and turn right on Hwy 90. After 1.2 miles, turn left on Waveland Avenue. Follow this street for about 0.9 miles, then turn right at Dicks Street.
