Cynthia M. Seymour Roberts passed away on August 14th, 2022 at the age of 66 after a long illness. She was a lifelong resident of D’Iberville as well as a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She attended St. Theresa Catholic School in D’Iberville and graduated from Sacred Heart Girls High School in Biloxi.
Cynthia began her lifelong career of bookkeeping in her teens. She began working for F&S Moving and Storage, the moving company co-owned by her father. Later, she would be the bookkeeper for the seafood business he started - Seymour and Sons Seafood. She was dedicated and precise, performing her job until shortly before she passed.
Before declining health took its toll, she loved to work in her many flower gardens. In general, if it had roots and leaves, she could grow it or nurse it back to health. She also enjoyed sitting on her front porch swing watching the hummingbirds at the feeders she put out.
Cynthia was a devoted wife and a mother who loved her children in the fiercest of manners. There was no sacrifice too small that she wasn’t willing to make for the benefit of her two children. Her love for her five grandchildren was just as strong, and she loved being “Granny”. She had a nurturing, caring, and generous spirit, which extended to friends and family alike.
Cynthia is preceded in death by her parents Lee C., Sr. and Lillie Rose (Martino) Seymour; brother, Joseph; sister, Loretta, and husband, Michael W. Roberts.
She is survived by her daughter, Christina Marie Roberts, who was her primary caretaker for many years, by her son, Randall James Roberts (Christine), and by her five grandchildren, Luke Joshua Roberts, Jacob Tobias Roberts, Nicholas Beau Roberts, Sophie Joy Rose Roberts, and Ava Marie Lady Roberts. She is also survived by her brothers Lee C. Seymour, Jr., Paul J. (Jo) Seymour, David A. (Anne) Seymour, Phillip M. Seymour, and Andrew N. (Marilyn) Seymour; sisters Lydia A. (Bert) Pickard, Mary E. (Wayne) Fairley, Eileen S. (Jason) Leckich, Darlene S. Noland, and Lillie Rose Seymour; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12 PM on Saturday, August 20, 2022 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Friends are invited to visit at 10 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family prefers donations be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul – D’Iberville, MS at 10446 Lemoyne Blvd. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of Cynthia M. Seymour Roberts.
