Mr. Dalton J. “Nol” Sonnier, age 92, of Ocean Springs went to eternal peace with the Lord on Monday, August 5, 2013.
Mr. Sonnier was born in Kaplan, LA on August 23, 1920. He and his bride, Anna May Louviere Sonnier, moved to Biloxi in 1941 where he worked at various trades, including the seafood industry, until his employment as a roofer and carpenter at Keesler Air Force Base. He served in the US Army Air Corp during WWII and retired from his job at Keesler after 30 years of dedicated civil service. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Faith, and attended services at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Biloxi, St. Alphonsus in Ocean Springs and Sacred Heart in D’Iberville.
Mr. Sonnier is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Anna may Louviere Sonnier; daughter, Judy Domonousky; parents, Olivia and Ursin Sonnier; five brothers; four sisters; and two grandchildren.
Survivors include his two sons, Mervin J. Sonnier and his wife Eva and Ronnie J. Sonnier and his wife Barbara; sister, Thelma Sonnier Hernandez; seven grandchildren, Michele C Sonnier, Paul J. Sonnier, Anne M. Sonnier, Joseph D. Spencer, Scarlett Sonnier Sears, Darren A. Sonnier and Sean C. Sonnier; and elen great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Ocean Springs.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, August 9, 2013 at the Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Friends may visit one hour prior. Burial will follow at Southern Memorial Park.
