Daniel John Primo, USAF Senior Master Sergeant (Ret), age 60, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Saturday, September 29, 2007, at Keesler AFB Hospital in Biloxi, MS. He was born in Festus, MO on May 28, 1947. He was a 1965 graduate of Long Branch High School in New Jersey. He served in the U. S. Air Force and retired in 1992 after 26 distinguished years. He was involved in numerous aeronautical programs and was instrumental in the success of the air force's AWACS program. He was a member of VFW Post #6731 in D'Iberville, MS, life member of DAV Columbus, MS and life member and past commander of American Legions Post #170 Midwest City, OK. He was of the Catholic faith. He is survived by his wife, Jimmie Johnson Primo, of Ocean Springs, MS; daughter, Jennifer (CP) Kline of Sacremento, CA; sons, Daniel John Primo, Jr. and Matthew Michael Primo of Chotaw, OK; stepsons, John Primo of Del City, OK and Joseph D. Perkins (Lilli) of Ocala, FL; stepdaughters, Lynn Perkins of Ocean Springs, MS and Darlene Pickering of Alma, WI; brother, Richard (Sherry) Primo of Lewiston, NY; sister, Carol Primo of Neptune Beach, NJ; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Vincent Carrol and Josipna Virgina Anastasia Primo. The family extends their thanks to the doctors and staff at Keesler AFB Hospital, Ward 4A. A special thanks to Major Kenneth Prince. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to VFW Post #6731, "Dan Primo Fund", West Gay Road, D'Iberville, MS 39540. A memorial service will be held Thursday, October 4, 2007, at 3 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. Visitation is from 2 until 3 p.m.
