Daniel Joseph Verzyvelt

Daniel Joseph Verzwyvelt, age 87, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2023.

Daniel was a native of Alexandria, LA, and a resident of Gulfport. He was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He later worked for the civil service where he retired from KAFB.  Daniel was a member of Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where he participated in the Knights of Columbus, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, a member of the Holy Name Society, and was the past president of the Parish Council.

He was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael Verzwyvelt; and son-in-law, James Holmes. Daniel is survived by his wife of 68 years, Nancy Verzwyvelt; daughter, LaDonna Holmes; son, Daniel Verzwyvelt (Diana); sister, Pearl Hirchak; three grandchildren, Joseph Verzwyvelt, MD (Sarah), Tiffany DuBaz, and Marian Shepard; and five great-grandchildren.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at noon on Friday, February 17, 2023, at Our Lady of Fatima. Friends may visit an hour prior. Interment will be at Alexandria Memorial Gardens in Woodworth, LA.
