David Byrd, age 67, of Biloxi, passed away Sunday, July 6, 2014.
David was born and raised in Biloxi. He graduated from Biloxi High School in 1965. He served in the US Coast Guard serving a tour in Vietnam. He attended MGCCC and was a Master Mason of the Magnolia Lodge #120. He was also a member of the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Biloxi.
David is preceded in death by his parents, Edgar and Helen Byrd; and brother, Curtis Byrd.
Survivors include his loving wife, Susan Wolcott Byrd of Biloxi; daughters, Carol Byrd-Brown (Kirk Powell) of Ovett, MS and Sara (Curtis) McKie of Long Beach; son, R. Patrick Byrd of Biloxi; sisters, Marguerite (Scotty) Allen of Boerne, TX and Nancy (David) Phillips of Savannah, GA; brothers, R. Pat (Terry) Byrd of Biloxi, John Byrd of Biloxi and Laurence Byrd of Biloxi; sister-in-law, Lila Byrd of Ocean Springs; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorials to be made to the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 1904 Popps Ferry Rd, Biloxi, MS 39532.
Services will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer at 11:00 a.m. Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery. The Howard Avenue Chapel of Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
