David Lee Folson, 62, of Biloxi, MS, died Monday, July 1, 2013, from complications of
lung cancer. He was born August 23, 1950, in Boone, Iowa. David Folson was a retired U. S. Marine Veteran of Vietnam. He was a maverick who had many fascinating chapters in his life; lumberjack, carpenter, offshore worker, marine, bartender, father and husband to name a few. Most of all, David was a gregarious, assertive and resilient charmer that survived tough situations and, with good luck, would always end up unscathed and more interesting. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, motorcycles, hot rods, his friends and family.
He is survived by his children, Shawn Folson and Clare Folson; sister, Mary Eggink; brother-in-law, Ray Eggink; nephew, Michael Eggink, and his favorite Aunt Noni.
The family would like to extend special gratitude to the residents and caregivers at
Baycove Assisted Living Home, his nurses at Homestead and the VA Hospice center for
filling his final months with love and aid.
Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2013, at Biloxi National Cemetery. Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 2511 Pass Road, in Biloxi is in charge of arrangements.
