David Lee Hetrick

David Lee Hetrick was born in Cherry Point, NC, the son of Oakley Hetrick Jr. and Helen Hill Hetrick. David died on September 14, 2015 in Lesparre, France following a long illness with cancer. David is survived by his wife Eliane of Lesparre, France; his mother, Dr. Helen Hetrick Graham and her husband, Dr. Edwin Graham of Gulfport; and two brothers, Donald of Hammond, LA and Dale of Canton, MS. His funeral was held in Bordeau, France on September 21. David was a graduate of Gulfport High School where he served as pianist for the high school choir for three years. He studied classical music at Tulane University and taught piano at the university. David served as pianist at Gulfport First Baptist Church for five years. He enjoyed teaching piano and performing in classical concerts. A Memorial Service for family and friends will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport on Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at 6:00 pm. A reception for family and friends will be held at his mother’s home, 22 51st Street, Gulfport immediately following the service.
