David L. Lord

David L. Lord, age 67, of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, went to spend eternity with our Lord God in Heaven, Wednesday, August 15, 2018, at his home in Biloxi, MS, after a long, hard battle with stage four pancreatic cancer. Mr. Lord was a resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast and spent most his life living in Biloxi and Gulfport, Mississippi. David was a graduate of Biloxi High School, class of 1968, attended Jefferson Davis Community College, and then attended The University of Southern Mississippi, where he graduated with his Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. David then attended The University of Mississippi Law School, where he received his Juris Doctor in 1975. That same year, David opened his law practice, in which he has served the Mississippi Gulf Coast and surrounding areas for over 40 years. David was a long-standing and highly active member of the Catholic Diocese of Biloxi. David was a member of the financial counsel, as well as a member of the ground-breaking for the Diocese of Biloxi Building on Popps Ferry Rd. in Biloxi, and spent his life donating his time and energy to the well-being of the Catholic Church. David was also a member of The Knights of Columbus and a highly ranked knight in the Southeastern Equestrian Order of the Knights of The Holy Sepulchre. David opened his law firm in 1975 here on the Mississippi Gulf Coast, David L. Lord & Associates, P.A., and has taken care of his community’s legal needs with a compassionate, caring, and unparalleled level of distinction. Over his 40 year plus career, he has received countless awards in the legal realm, based on his level of client satisfaction and for his level of expertise in Bankruptcy Law. David lived for God and the Church, his family, friends and colleagues, and clients. Mr. Lord is preceded in death by his parents, Delancy A. Lord and Marjorie Watson Lord, brother Jeffrey Allen Lord, and his father and mother in-law, Joseph W. Machen and Maxine Poirier Machen. Survivors include his amazing, loving wife and best-friend, having just celebrated their 46 year wedding anniversary on August 11, 2018, Madeleine Machen Lord; three incredible children and their spouses, daughter, Amanda Charleston Lord and husband, Christopher Bradford Colcord, daughter, Summer Machen Lord-Bosarge and husband, Donald Hugh Bosarge, III, and only son, Joshua Winfield Lord and his wife, Amber Nicole Bosarge Lord; his grandchildren, Cade Michael Lord Gilbert, Bailey Charleston Gilbert, Jackson Lord Gilbert, Delancey Machen Bosarge, Ainsley Lord Bosarge, Montgomery Hugh Bosarge, Kaleice Marie Colcord and Emily Grace Colcord; and devoted sister, Toni Janine Lord of Ocean Springs, MS. Services for Mr. Lord will be held at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 1726 15th Street, Gulfport, Mississippi 39501, Tuesday, August 21, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Mass at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cathedral, 870 Howard Avenue, Biloxi, Mississippi 39530, will be held Saturday, August 25, 2018 at 12:00 noon, with full participation from the Knights of Columbus and Knights of the Holy Sepulchre, followed by reception at Nativity Hall.
