David Michael Gooch

David Michael “Mike” Gooch Sr., age 81, long time resident of Biloxi, went to be with his heavenly father on Friday, April 26, 2024.

Mike was born in Atlanta, Georgia but traveled the world while serving in the USAF for over 21 years, retiring on the USS Arizona memorial, in 1984. For almost 50 years, Mike dedicated his time spare time and energy into spreading the word of Christ's love and teachings in many organizations but none as much as Children's Worship at various churches, most of those years at Handsboro Baptist Church in Gulfport, MS.

Mike is preceded in death by his parents; 3 sisters; and 1 brother.

Survivors include his loving wife of 61 glorious years, Carol June (Lawson) Gooch; 2 sons, David Jr. and Bryan; 4 grandchildren; and 1 newly born great grandchild. 

Mike was a strong man in his beliefs and work ethics. A devoted man in marriage and fatherhood.  A giving man to friends, family and those in need. A patient and kind man to all he met.  And so much more that words cannot do justice to show his love for life.

Funeral service will be held at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home on Pass Rd, Biloxi, Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at 10am. Friends may visit one hour prior. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery.
