David Lee Morrison, age 85, of Ocean Springs, MS passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at his home.
David was born on February 20, 1933 in Farmington, Pennsylvania, to Martha Morrison (Herbold) and Alexander Henry Morrison. David was the youngest of 11 brothers and sisters. He grew up on the family farm and carried the lessons he learned there throughout his life. David graduated high school and joined the United States Air Force where he served from 1950 until 1958. The Air Force brought him to Biloxi and Ocean Springs, where he spent the rest of his life. After leaving the Air Force he opened his own gas station which grew into a large auto repair business. He celebrated 50 years of business in 2004. David retired from the auto repair business in 2008 but continued doing small engine repair until his death. David loved gardening and loved growing and sharing the vegetables and fruit that he grew.
David is preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Carole Simkins Morrison; and a son, Douglas Wayne Morrison.
Survivors include his sons, Rodney Morrison (Virginia), Ricky Morrison (Barbara), Kevin Morrison (Jennifer); his daughter, Lisa Morrison; long time family friend, Chris Tucker (Cherry); three granddaughters; three grandsons; five great grandchildren; and his faithful companion, Zack, who didn’t leave his side while he was alone in his house. .
A time of remembrance will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., with a service at 11:00 a.m., all Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs. Interment will follow at Crestlawn Memorial Park with a private graveside gathering.
