David Roy Stewart, age 66, of Gulfport died Friday, January 25, 2013 in Gulfport.
He was born in Gulfport where he lived for most of his life. He was a member of Burton
Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a graduate of Gulfport High School
Class of 1965 and the University of Southern Mississippi and was retired from
Ingalls after 33 years as a Supervisor of planning and scheduling. He enjoyed gardening and feeding his birds and squirrels. David was a gentleman’s gentleman in that he always would stand when a lady entered the room and he opened the doors for them. When he shook a man’s hand, there was no need for a witness or notary for he still believed “A man’s word was his bond”.
Mr. Stewart was preceded in death by his father, Winfield William Stewart and mother, Katie Sue Duckworth Stewart. He is survived by his wife, Ellen Andre Stewart of Gulfport; a sister, Rebecca Devitt of Gulfport; a niece, Sandy Cassidy; and great nephew, Kyle Cassidy.
The funeral service will be Tuesday, January 29, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens, Gulfport
