David Williams Hall

David Williams Hall was only 44 years old when he died peacefully at home in Ocean Springs on Tuesday, September 5th, 2006. He departed this life well before his time, after a long illness, surrounded by his loving family. David was born January 9, 1962 in Biloxi, Mississippi to Leon Hall and Mercedes Williams Hall. He graduated from Notre Dame High School and attended University of Southern Mississippi, joining the family business and working side by side with his father at DeJean Packing Company and later at David Hall Seafood. In later years, David found his calling in the gaming industry and, over the years, worked at several casinos, most recently at the Imperial Palace. David had a passion for cars, music, especially AC/DC, and Marvel Comics Superheroes; he was an exceptional master of all trivia. But his sincere love always remained his family and friends. David was an extremely generous host, who opened his home and his heart to all and anyone who entered his life. He truly appreciated and cherished Mississippi Gulf Coast and always referred to it proudly as, “God’s country”. He enjoyed a special relationship with his Godfather Jerry O’Keefe. David was preceded in death by his father Leon Hall, his grandparents Elmer and Cornelius Williams; Fletcher and Nell Hall; and his aunt Anna Mae Favret. He leaves to cherish the endless memories his lifelong soulmate and beloved wife of 22 years – Lori Gladney Hall; devoted son David Williams Hall, II, whom he adored and who was the apple of his eye; his precious granddaughter Kendall Hall; his loving mother Mercedes Williams Hall; caring sister Sandra Hall Diaz; and a favorite cousin, Connie Favret. He made a difference in the lives of his numerous nieces and nephews: Joshua Anderson; Ana Alexandra Diaz; Meredith, Vincent and Scott Higginbotham; Carley O’Bryant; Casey and Kelly Gladney; Sean and Johnny Hayden; Amanda and Prentiss Parker; Ian Trebotich; Olivia Barber. David Hall will be impossible to forget; he will be sadly missed by everyone who loved him, but especially by his family and friends. Services will be held on Saturday, September 9, 2006 at 12:00 noon at the Bradford O’Keefe Funeral Home in Ocean Springs, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. Burial to follow at Biloxi City Cemetery.
