Deanna Lee Ledbetter “Dee” “Mema” “Grandma” “Mrs. Dee” and “Aunt Dee” Hartford, age 83, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, in Gulfport, MS.

Deanna was born on April 7, 1940, in Harrisburg, IN to Ruth and Vernon Ledbetter. She worked for the finance department at the University of Texas-Austin and for State of Florida Department of Administrative Hearings. Deanna was married to Vietnam veteran, Thomas R. Hartford. In his 24 years of service, he completed multiple tours in Hawaii (2), Guam, and stateside. Deanna was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and The Rusty Spokes MS Coast. She was also a founding member of Chrome Divas Motorcycle Club.

Deanna was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Thomas R. Hartford; son, William Arlin Bynum; sister, Jackie Withers; and brother, Nathan Withers.

Survivors include her children, Cindy Sturdivant (Landon) of Kerrville, TX, Lorrie McCampbell (Steve Doucet) of Biloxi, MS, and Cecil Bynum ( Teresa) of Big Spring, TX; grandchildren, Justin Williams (Jenny) of Madison, AL, Aarika Ellsworth (Matthew) of Tucson, AZ, Austin Bynum (Everly Feeley) of Big Spring, TX, and Ashely Jones (Aaron) of Maysville, OK; great-grandchildren, Xavier Williams and Katija Williams of Madison, AL, Elara Bynum of Big Spring, TX, and Levi Sturdivant, Amon and Wyatt Jones of Maysville, OK; sisters, Joann Frisco of Hannastown, PA, and Janie Guiton of Atlanta, GA; nieces, Cathy Surrey and Amanda Becker of Atlanta, GA; and special friend, Melody Phillips of Ft. Worth, TX.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to St. Joseph Hospice and to best friend, confidante, and caregiver, Beverly Toche.

A Celebration of Life will be scheduled at a later date.

Deanna’s ashes are to be spread in the Big Bend National Park in Texas along with those of her husband.
