Deanne Rankin Fasold

Deanne Rankin Fasold was born on April 27, 1937 in Riverside, CA to Col. William Q. Q. and Kathleen Fava Rankin and passed away on August 21, 2015. Deanne grew up in Gulfport while her father served in the USAF and her mother was employed at the Gulfport V. A. Administration. She attended Gulfport schools and graduated from Gulf Park. It was at Gulf Park that she met her husband, Cmdr. Karl Fasold, USN (Ret.) while sailing. He was at that time starting his second career as a jeweler in the family business. They recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. Deanne is survived by her husband Karl, daughter Ann of Gulfport, son and daughter-in-law Karl Jr & Melita of New Orleans, and two granddaughters Kathleen and Kathryn. She enjoyed the Gulfport Yacht Club, the Red Hat Society, and Gulf Park Annual Reunions. She travelled internationally with her mother and enjoyed frequent trips to Disney World with her granddaughters and friends until a long illness kept her close to home. Her immediate family as well as many cousins and friends will miss the joy they shared with her. Deanne was a long time member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Gulfport, where the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, September 1st, 2015 at 11am. Visitation will be held an hour prior to the Mass, and followed by a private interment at a later date. The family requests a donation to one’s Church or favorite charity in lieu of flowers. Bradford-O’Keefe Funeral Home, 15th Street, Gulfport is in charge of arrangements.
