Dearman Edmond Cuevas, 86, of Gulfport, died Sunday, October 30, 2005 in Gulfport. Mr. Cuevas was born in Gulfport and was a life long resident of the Coast. He was a graduate of Orange Grove High School, class of 1938-1939. He retired from the construction business. Mr. Cuevas was the last member of pioneer Harrison County family of Edmond and Victoria Cuevas. He was a veteran of WWII and served in the 8th Air Force, 392nd Bomb Group and was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross with 3 Oak Clusters, 32nd Degree Mason, and a member of Southern Star Lodge #500 of Long Beach. Mr. Cuevas was a Catholic.
Mr. Cuevas was preceded in death by his mother, Rena Cuevas.
Survivors include his companion, Joyce McLemore of Gulfport, and caregivers, Gloria Ann Ladner and Reubin Allen.
Visitation will be from 6 until 10:00 PM, Tuesday, November 1, 2005 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road in Gulfport. A graveside service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, November 2, 2005 in Wolf River Cemetery in Harrison County.
