Denise Smith Brossett

It is with extreme sadness that the family of Denise Smith Brossett, 73, announces her passing on Monday, October 23, 2023 at Biloxi Merit Health in Biloxi, MS.  Denise was born on February 20, 1950.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Anthony Tyrone Smith and John Walter Barrios II, as well as one sister, Joy Barrios Duhon.

Denise is survived by her husband of 30 years, William E. Brossett Jr.  She leaves behind three sisters, Wanda Barrios Leger, Linda Sue Barrios, and Mary Antoinette Barrios; one brother, Thomas Barrios; two brothers-in-law, Perry Leger and Ronald Duhon, one sister-in-law Charlene Barrios, five nieces and eleven nephews as well as a host of cousins and dear friends to treasure her memory. 

Denise had a way of painting a prettier day.  She was someone to call any time, day or night and always had a quick joke to share.  She was a wonderfully talented artist and shared many of her works with family and friends who will forever be able to see a piece of her soul in those paintings.  Her departure leaves behind an emptiness that cannot not be filled. She will be missed.
