Dennis Arthur McGrury, Jr

Master Gunnery Sergeant Dennis A. McGrury Jr. USMC (Retired), age 48, of Ocean Springs, MS went on his final deployment on Wednesday, September 9, 2009. Dennis honorably served his nation and the Marine Corps with both pride and patriotism for 26 years. He served and led Marines during a time of war and during a time of peace. However, more importantly, he was a loving husband to Jean and a loving father to his children; Sam and Sara. He will be greatly missed. We thank our merciful God for taking care of Dennis and calling him home to rest. Semper Fidelis! We will see you again on the other side. Survivors include his loving wife, Jean McGrury and his two children, Sam McGrury of Ocean Springs, MS., and Sara McGrury of Aliso Viejo, CA. The celebration of life for Dennis McGrury will take place on Thursday, September 17, 2009. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 p.m. with a 1 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial, all at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, Ocean Springs, MS. Burial will follow in Biloxi National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made in memory of MGySgt Dennis McGrury, Jr. to the Injured Marine Semper Fi Fund, 825 College Blvd., Suite 102, PMB 609, Oceanside, CA 92057. The Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
