Dennis Daniel "Pete" Dauro, Sr., our beloved father, was called home on February 22, 2005. He was born January 5, 1918 in Long Beach, MS.
He was owner of Dauro's Body Shop, Pete's Amusement Center and the The Junk Barn, all in Long Beach, before he retired. Mr. Dauro was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Burma and India and was a member of the VFW in Long Beach.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vincent and Angelina Trippe Dauro; and brothers, Thomas Dauro, Charlie Dauro, Samuel P. Dauro, J. P. Dauro, Marion Dauro, Joseph Dauro, Vincent P. Dauro, Angelo Dauro and a sister, Theresa Schepens.
He is survived by his children, Elaine Ladnier and her husband W. G. "Tiger" of Perkinston and Dennis D. Dauro, Jr. and his wife, Martha E. Dauro of Long Beach; three grandchildren, William Dennis Ladnier and his wife,Cyndi, Lisa Deanna "Sissy" Watts and husband, Perry, and Dennis D. Dauro, III; five great-grandchildren, William Grant Ladnier, Emily Ladnier, Hunter Ladnier, Breanna Watts, and Cory Watts; and two sisters, Frances Killegrew and Mary Hansen.
Friends may visit Thursday, February 24, 2005 from 6 until 9 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, 15th St., Gulfport. The funeral service will be Friday, February 25, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow in Evergreen Cemetery in Gulfport.
