Dessie Mae Taylor Plomb

Dessie Mae Taylor Plomb, 79, of Miami Lakes, FL, died Sunday, May 21, 2006 in Miami, FL. Mrs. Plomb was a native of Harrison County. She was an honor graduate of Woolmarket High School. Mrs. Plomb was employed in Professional Portrait Photographs, before leaving the Coast in 1954 to become an Air Force wife. After many state-side and overseas assignments this family retired from the military in 1967 and resided in Miami Lakes, FL. Mrs. Plomb retired from Burdines Federated Department Store, after a long career. A perfect day for her was having a block party for the "Do it Yourself" hurricane clean up crew or to host a holiday party for the VA Hospital Ward. She is known far and near for her pound cakes. She delighted in giving a hand-up for those with a need. Mrs. Plomb was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Stewart and Mae Byrd Taylor, one sister, Pauline Taylor, and two brothers, Charles D. Taylor and Henry D. Taylor. Survivors include her husband, Robert F. Plomb of Miami Lakes, her daughter, Susan F. Plomb of Miami Lakes, two sisters, Margaret Tompkins of Austin, TX, and Whitney Taylor of Woolmarket, and one brother, George J. Taylor of Woolmarket. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M., Wednesday, May 24, 2006 at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home, O'Neal Road, Gulfport. A graveside service will be 11 A.M., Thursday, May 25, 2006 in Coalville Cemetery in Woolmarket. Dessie's family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to all her caregivers, especially Beau, Michelle, Lourdes, and colleagues at Baptist Hematology and Oncology. A special thanks to Dr. E. Feller and the team at Centacour for their work developing Remicade. It was a God send. For all the love, care, and compassion our thanks to Ann, Millie, Marion, and Astrid. Our thanks and love to Mary, the team at Dr. Julien's. On Sunday Heaven has another angel to visit with Dr. Dale Matza.
