Mr. Don "Donnie" R. Carpenter, 54, of Gulfport, MS, died Friday, October 20, 2006, in Gulfport.
Mr. Carpenter was a native and lifelong resident of the Gulf Coast. He was a graduate of Long Beach High School and an "over-the-road" truck driver. He was a Baptist. Mr. Carpenter was an avid Saints fan and antique car collector.
He was preceded in death by his father, Donald W. Carpenter. Survivors include his loving fiance, Cindy Smith of Gulfport, two sons, Donald Carpenter and his wife, Rayna, of Wiggins, and Christopher Carpenter of Gulfport, and their mother, Lynn Carpenter, of New Mexico; his mother, Edith Russell Carpenter of Glfport; two sisters, Barbara Lee and her husband, Ronnie, and Debbie Cole and her husband, Bobby, all of Gulfport; three grandchildren, Sierra, Crystal and Donald Carpenter, and four nephews, David Cospelich, Anthony Hale, Justin Cole and Matthew Cole. He is also survived by many loving friends.
The family wishes to extend their sincere appreciation to Memorial Hospice and a special thanks to Jack Langlinais, Donnie's personal angel.
Funeral services will be held Monday, October 23, 2006, at 2 p.m. at Bradford-O'Keefe Funeral Home Chapel, O'Neal Road, Gulfport, where friends may visit one hour before service time. Interment will follow in Finley Cemetery, Gulfport.
