Donald Christopher Leggett

Mr. Donald Christopher Leggett, age 48, a longtime resident of the Mississippi Gulf Coast, passed away peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, on Sunday, October 4, 2009, after a courageous battle with cancer. Donald grew up in Ocean Springs, MS., where he graduated from Ocean Springs High School in 1979. He was an all around athlete who especially loved basketball. He used his passion to inspire the next generation, coaching teams for both his son and daughter in youth sports. Donald loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He spent the last months of his life enjoying his family and their farm. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Donald and Lois Meister and his friend and father-in-law, Carl "Chief" Clark, Sr. Survivors include his wife of 26 years, Gerri Clark Leggett, daughter, Kristil Leggett (Randy) Albert, son, Donald Christopher Leggett, Jr., sister, Yvonne Leggett Thomas and her spouse, Pat Smith, brother, David (Vikki) Leggett, his parents, Walter and Ruby Leggett, mother-in-law, Mary Clark, one grandson, the light of his life, Jaxon Henry Albert, as well as many in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews as well as other special friends who all feel blessed to have known him. Visitation will be on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, from 6 PM - 8 PM, at the Ocean Springs Chapel of Bradford O'Keefe Funeral Home. On Thursday, October 8, 2009, there will be an 11 AM chapel service in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Crestlawn Memorial Park.
