Donald "Don" Edwin Howze, Sr.

Donald (Don) Edwin Howze Sr. (83) of Biloxi, Mississippi passed away on 9/27/2023 at 9:55am surrounded by family and friends.

Don was born June 8, 1940 in New Orleans, LA.  He was a graduate of Metairie High School and attended Southeastern University.   He began his Sportswriting career at the Times Picayune newspaper in New Orleans and worked for newspapers throughout LA, OK and MS. He loved all sports, and horse racing, and loved to talk to anyone about them who would listen.  The LSU Tigers and New Orleans Saints were beloved to him.

Don is preceded in death by his parents Horace and Hilda (Belknap) Howze and his brother H. Gordon Howze.  His survivors include his children Debra (Ben) Trombatore, Donna (Mike) Dunnaway, Donald (Lisa) Howze Jr., Tommy Howze, Patty (Chris) Latil, 7 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren, his beloved Diane and his dog Peanut.

The family would like to express their gratitude to all of the staff at Pillars of Biloxi for their excellent care, and to all the friends he made while living there.
